    One year and three months have passed since the June 1, 1868 death of James Buchanan. Harriet Lane Johnston, Buchanan’s niece, is now the owner of Wheatland. Miss Hetty Parker, Buchanan’s faithful housekeeper, is re-organizing the household and coming to grips with her new found wealth bestowed upon her by Buchanan. During your visit guests will discover what Buchanan left Miss Hetty, they will meet her siblings, some other servants and characters as everyone struggles with the fact that they must now leave Wheatland to find new homes and jobs.
